The Church of Jesus Christ

Opening Song: "The Church of Jesus Christ," CS #77

"For thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Verily I say unto you all: Arise and shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for the nations."

Discussion:
Who is the leader of our church? The Savior, Jesus Christ. His church is named after him.
This song tells others what we as members of the church know and do.

Sing the song again counting the number of times the song says "I" or "I'll." (10 times)
Go through and explain each phrase. (sharing time idea, January 2003, Friend)

Activity:
Match each phrase with a picture and use the pictures to help learn all the words of the song.
(I used pictures from the gospel art kit and ldsclipart.com)

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I know who I am.
I know God's plan.
I'll follow him in faith.
I believe in the Savior, Jesus Christ.
I'll honor his name.
I'll do what is right; I'll follow his light.
His truth I will proclaim.
